It’s been more than a year since I started working with current company. But my knowledge about the banking/finance industry is still unimpressive. You could ask me to book the credits and debits but I won’t be able to tell you much about what’s happening out there in the market. I have been told that what I know now is more than enough but I find that hard to believe. Nowadays, I don’t put much effort to learn more about this industry and I am truly ashamed of myself.
I used to Wiki or Google (during weekends at his) every single financial terms that I have heard or encountered and believe me when I say this, I learnt quite a lot although I did not understand 100% of what I had read. So, as part of my new year’s resolution, I aim to read and learn more about Banking/Finance industry. I do hope that all the things that I could and should pick up along the way, I can pass on to my friends. And hopefully, most of what I do pass on, are (80% or more) accurate. InsyaAllah.
It is not easy being 24 and managing your own money/finances. It is even harder if you have loans to pay off. Personally, I find it difficult. I constantly think about finding ways to earn more money and to go into business is the most obvious solution. I know money does not guarantee happiness but let’s be realistic here. I am most happy when I get to read the books that I want. Money. I love eating out. Money. I want to visit my friends. Money. I need to get new schoolbooks. Money. Life saving operations? Money well spent.
What I really want to do is to secure the future of MY family. I don’t want to be filthy rich; I just want to live comfortably. I want to be able to pay for necessities without having to borrow here and there. I also want MY family to appreciate the value of money and to spend it wisely and to share it with others if we can. And when it comes to leisure spending, I want to spend because I have set aside some money to serve that purpose and not run into debt just because there’s a massive sale in the shop nearby.
