No, I don't need that...

What I need is a Yeo's Chrysanthemum Tea - chilled please!

I bought a book, a top and a small bag despite the fact that I am broke.

Yesterday I had my pictures taken at college for my new student card. I was told that they’re going to hand out the cards during the first lecture next week. It felt like it was only yesterday that I went to the last P3 lecture at DBS!

I have been a student for more than 15 years and I have never been a good one. I do try to pay attention to the teacher/lecturer but it's hard to concentrate unless I find the subject/teacher interesting. I couldn’t remember much about my kindergarten days but I do remember getting awards for doing well in exams in primary and secondary school. And I remember dad buying me a big bar of chocolate (my favourite back then was Van Houten) as my reward. I’ve always sucked at sports but I did try to compensate by cheering as loud as I can during sukaneka.

Cikgu Aishah was my English teacher when I was in primary 3. She helped me to choose a story to tell in the (story telling of course) competition. In the end she chose “Princess Kalihe” for me and although I was not the winner, I did manage to be the runner up.

She was one of the few teachers that I could still remember (by name) from SRK Gita. I just wished that I did keep in touch with my old classmates (1 Jingga – 5 Dahlia). My mum got me transferred when I was just starting my 6th year. So to St Teresa and to 6 Biru I went. I was one of the backbenchers along with Victoria, Jennifer, Kelly, Ain, Siaw Ling, Jo Ann, Yvonne and the others. We spent our days drooling over Jonathan Brandis, the Lawrence brothers and other cute teen celebs. I miss those days.

I miss Me.

Walk, don't run.

It’s been more than a year since I started working with current company. But my knowledge about the banking/finance industry is still unimpressive. You could ask me to book the credits and debits but I won’t be able to tell you much about what’s happening out there in the market. I have been told that what I know now is more than enough but I find that hard to believe. Nowadays, I don’t put much effort to learn more about this industry and I am truly ashamed of myself.

I used to Wiki or Google (during weekends at his) every single financial terms that I have heard or encountered and believe me when I say this, I learnt quite a lot although I did not understand 100% of what I had read. So, as part of my new year’s resolution, I aim to read and learn more about Banking/Finance industry. I do hope that all the things that I could and should pick up along the way, I can pass on to my friends. And hopefully, most of what I do pass on, are (80% or more) accurate. InsyaAllah.

It is not easy being 24 and managing your own money/finances. It is even harder if you have loans to pay off. Personally, I find it difficult. I constantly think about finding ways to earn more money and to go into business is the most obvious solution. I know money does not guarantee happiness but let’s be realistic here. I am most happy when I get to read the books that I want. Money. I love eating out. Money. I want to visit my friends. Money. I need to get new schoolbooks. Money. Life saving operations? Money well spent.

What I really want to do is to secure the future of MY family. I don’t want to be filthy rich; I just want to live comfortably. I want to be able to pay for necessities without having to borrow here and there. I also want MY family to appreciate the value of money and to spend it wisely and to share it with others if we can. And when it comes to leisure spending, I want to spend because I have set aside some money to serve that purpose and not run into debt just because there’s a massive sale in the shop nearby.

InsyaAllah.

What's the story Morning Glory?

My weekend was tiring though I did manage to have fun at the newlywed’s on Saturday and his’ on Sunday. I had good food on both days and the company was great. We watched Anak Halal and it was an awesome movie! (minus Fasha Sanda’s awful acting of course!)

The menu:

Saturday – Mi Hoon Sup
Sunday – Mi Kari, Ayam BBQ, Nasi Goreng and we also had Tiramisu for desert courtesy of yours truly.

This morning I received my P3 result via e-mail and I passed! I was surprised but thankful. I really didn’t think that I’d pass as I did not study for this paper (I actually Wiki-ed almost everything that was in the syllabus). My other half @ Platonic Friend also did well. I am so very proud of you.

Lately, I have been toying with the idea of finding another job. I love my current job and it pays well but…....... (the buts are too many to be listed)

I am currently listening to Mamma Mia. The song uplifts my mood.

I spent the last 10 minutes at work trying to figure out the answers to the Rebus puzzles that I received.

I went to Independent College right after work to pick up the study material.

Bought oranges again at M&S (just a bag this time around) and had 2 once I reached home.

Goodnight.
